Vintage Green Gassy Jack

Vintage Green Gassy Jack

Very adorable, very dapper leafy green leather jacket. Some fun local history behind this particular brand – if you’re a Vancouverite, you’ve seen the statue of the famous drunk sailor Gassy Jack (after whom the neighborhood of Gastown was named) striking a pose at the corner of Water and Carrall. John Deighton, known as “Gassy” Jack for his talkative nature and over-the-top storytelling, arrived here in 1867, the first settler on the land from which Vancouver would eventually grow. If you’re a bit of a history nerd like me, here’s an interesting article about his life: https://www.gassyjack.com/gassyjack.html

Back to the jacket: Teeny tiny size small women’s, with a genuinely lovely silky quilted lining.
